Introducing, The Lofts at Hawthorne Mill.
Built in 1897 and reimagined in 2018, the meticulous conversion of the former Louise Cotton Mill offers residents one-of-a-kind historic loft living in Plaza Midwood.
The largest mill in Charlotte when constructed, the Louise Cotton Mill is a significant representation of late nineteenth century textile mill architecture in the South East. Preservation of the classic textile mill design and craftsmanship recalls the industry that gave rise to the City of Charlotte in the 1880’s. The five-course-masonry façade, heavy timber interior and 12-foot tall window openings with segmental arched tops are among the original details preserved.
Today, The Lofts at Hawthorne Mill blends classic textile mill architecture with high-end finishes and modern design to create luxury living spaces as unique as those who inhabit them.
We welcome you to live outside of the new construction box. We hope you enjoy all the bells and whistles of your apartment’s modern design and high-end finishes. Moreover, we hope you relish the history, uniqueness, and character of a building that has ‘been around the block’ for over 120 years.
